World’s first 200-meter-long Bamboo Crash Barrier has been installed on the Vani-
Warora Highway,Vidarbh, Maharashtra.
It has been christened Bahu Balli.
The recycling value of the bamboo barrier is 50-70%.
The bamboo species used in the making of this barrier is Bambusa Balcoa, which has been treated with creosote oil and coated with recycled High-Density Poly Ethylene (HDPE).
It was rated as Class 1 during the Fire Rating Test conducted at the Central Building Research Institute (CBRI) in Roorkee.

The Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah, on 3 March 2023, inaugurated the first phase of the Bangalore Safe City Project in Bengaluru, Karnataka.
The project is envisaged under Nirbhaya Scheme to ensure the safety of women in Bengaluru city.
Under the project, audio-visual systems, drones, CCTVs, and emergency call boxes are installed in various parts of the city.

Uttar Pradesh govt on 5 March 2023, announced to waive road tax and registration fees on the purchase of Electric Vehicles (EVs) to promote electric vehicles.
As per the UP Electric Vehicle Manufacturing and Mobility Policy 2022, a 100 percent tax exemption will be given on electric vehicles (EVs) sold and registered in Uttar Pradesh from October 14, 2022, to October 13, 2025.
As per the government, these EVs will be all automobiles that are powered by batteries, ultracapacitors, or fuel cells.
According to the policy, a 15 per cent subsidy will also be given on the factory price of electric vehicles purchased in the State.

Madhya Pradesh Government on 5 March 2023, launched the ‘Ladli Bahna Scheme’ to make women financially independent.
The scheme aims to increase the economic independence of women in the state, improving their health and nutritional status.
Under the scheme, Rs 1,000 per month will be deposited in the accounts of the native women of the state in the age group of 23 to 60 years.

The union govt on 17 Mar’23 announced that the mega textile parks under the PM Mega Integrated Textile Region and Apparel (PM MITRA) scheme will be set up in seven states.
The list includes Tamil Nadu, Telangana, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh.
Mega parks will boost the textiles sector in line with 5F (Farm to Fibre to Factory to Fashion to Foreign) vision.

Union Minister of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare, Narendra Singh Tomar launched National Crop Insurance Portal’s (NCIP) digitized claim settlement module ‘DigiClaim’ in New Delhi on 23 March 2023.
It was launched under the ambit of Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana (PMFBY).
Under the module, claims will be disbursed electronically, which will benefit the respective farmers of six states.
This technology has been enabled through the integration of National Crop Insurance Portal (NCIP) and Public Finance Management System (PFMS).
