Educational Qualification
(i) For I.M.A. and Officers’ Training Academy, Chennai — Degree of a recognised University or equivalent.
(ii) For Indian Naval Academy—Degree in Engineering from a recognised University/Institution.
(iii) For Air Force Academy—Degree of a recognised University (with Physics and Mathematics at 10+2 level) or Bachelor of Engineering. Graduates with first choice as Army/Navy/Air Force are to submit proof of Graduation/provisional certificates on the date of commencement of the SSB Interview at the SSB.
Age Limit
- For IMA & Indian Naval Academy: Candidates born not earlier than 2nd January, 1999 and not later than 1st January, 2004 only are eligible.
- For Air Force Academy: 20 to 24 Years (Candidates born not earlier than 1st January, 2023 i.e. born not earlier than 2nd January, 1999 and not later than 1st January, 2003
- Age relaxation is applicable as per rules
- Officers’ Training Academy – (SSC Course for men) unmarried male candidates born not earlier than 2nd January, 1998 and not later than 1st January, 2004 only are eligible.
- Officers’ Training Academy – (SSC Women Non-Technical Course) Unmarried women, born not earlier than 2nd January, 1998 and not later than 1stJanuary, 2004.

Written Exam: This is the first stage of the CDS selection process. Candidates who register successfully for the exam are required to appear in the written exam. According to the CDS exam pattern, the written exam for IMA, INA and Air Force comprises three sections, English, General Knowledge and Elementary Mathematics.
SSB Interview: There are two stages in SSB Interview – Psychological Aptitude Test and Intelligence Test. Candidates qualifying the stage one will be called for the second stage.
Final Selection: Final selection of candidates is done based on their performance in written exam and SSB Interview. Selected candidates will have to undergo training at Indian Military Academy, Dehradun, Indian Naval Academy, Ezhimala, Air Force Academy, Hyderabad, Officers’ Training Academy, Chennai.

CDS Exam Pattern for IMA, INA & OTA
The exam of Indian Naval Academy/Indian Military Academy/Indian Air Force comprises of 3 papers, which carry a total of 300 marks. The total duration of each exam is 2 hours.
