Job Specifications:

(a) Chef: They would be required to prepare food as per menu (both vegetarian and non-vegetarian including handling of meat products) and accounting of ration. In addition, they will also be allotted other duties as per Service requirement.

(b) Steward: They would be required to serve food in the officers‟ messes, as waiters, housekeeping, accounting of funds, wine and stores, preparation of menu etc. In addition, they will also be allotted other duties as per Service requirement.

(c) Hygienist: They will be required to clean washroom, shower spaces and other areas. In addition, they will also be allotted other duties as per Service requirement.

Education Qualification & Age:

Selection process:

Indian Navy Conduct recruitment schedule wise in this process first candidate have written exam then after who qualified written exam next step is PFT then Medical test after announce merit All steps explanation given in below.

i) Written Exam

  • Marking pattern for Online Test:-
    • (i) One mark for every correct answer.
    • (ii) Nil (0) marks for unattempted question.
    • (iii) 0.25 marks shall be deducted for each wrong answer.
    • (iv) Section Wise cut-off Marks based on your State.

ii) Physical Fitness Test (PFT):

➣ PFT will be conducted for all those who qualify the written tests. Candidates undergoing PFT will do so at their own risk. All candidates are advised to be in possession of sport rig (Shoe, T-shirt, Trouser etc). The PFT consists of:-

iii) Medical Standards:

Medical examination will be conducted by authorized military doctors as per medical standard prescribed in current regulations applicable to Enrolled Personnel on entry.

Height: Minimum height 157 cms. Reduction in height for candidates from hilly areas and tribal areas will be in accordance with the Central Govt. orders.

Chest: Should be well proportioned. Minimum expansion 5 cms.

Weight: Proportionate to height and age +10% acceptable.

Hearing: Normal.

Tattoo in Medical Test:

➣ Permanent body tattoos are not permitted on any part of the body. For other candidates, permanent body tattoos are only permitted on inner face of forearms i.e. from inside of elbow to the wrist and on the reverse side of palm/back (dorsal) side of hand. Final Enrollment Medical Examination

➣ Merit list released based on the vacancy and Candidate obtained Written Exam marks and PFT Qualified and Medical Test and Reservations also exclusive for given merit list who can get the Name of Merit list he got call up letter.

Traning Process:

The training for the course will commence in Aug 2020, with 09 weeks for MR/NMR and 22 weeks for MR/NMR Basic Training at INS Chilka followed by Professional training in the allotted trade in various Naval Training Establishments. Branch/ Trade will be allocated as per the requirement of Service.

Pay and Allowances:

During the initial training period, a stipend of Rs. 14,600/- per month will be admissible. On successful completion of initial training, they will be placed in Level 3 of the Defence Pay Matrix (₹ 21,700- ₹69,100). In addition, they will be paid MSP @ ₹ 5200/- per month plus DA (asapplicable).

Promotion:

Promotion prospects exist up to the rank of Master Chief Petty Officer-I, i.e. Level 8 of the Defence Pay Matrix (Rs 47,600- Rs 1,51,100) plus MSP Rs 5200/- per month plus DA (as applicable).Opportunities for promotion to commissioned officer also exist for those who perform well and qualify the prescribed examinations.
